Marketing Management for New Ventures

Marketing & Management for New Ventures builds on the concepts introduced in Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Innovation. This course provides the students with the details of developing and running businesses and business ventures.

This courses thus provides the students with an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of how Entrepreneurship ideas and concepts become reality.

The course requires the student to be fully involved in the study of specific areas related to starting and running new business ventures. Students form multidisciplinary teams and evaluate innovative ideas, analyze appropriate business models, test the feasibility of innovative ideas, prepare in-depth market research and financial statements, identify appropriate sources of capital, and select the most appropriate and effective business structures to make their business model viable and profitable.

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • Develop a convincing business model.
  • Use business modeling to compare and contrast ideas.
  • Conduct feasibility analysis and draw accurate conclusions regarding probability of success.
  • Create pro-forma financial statements.
  • Identify sources of funding and needs of investors.
  • Demonstrate the ability to persuade investors to support an entrepreneurial venture.
  • Understand legal, regulatory, and ethical issues entrepreneurs face.
  • Understand the process of recruiting, hiring and developing a new venture team.
  • Participate effectively as a team member or leader.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations
