When the International Journal of Professional Management became clearly established, its principal aim was confirmed thus:

‘To both explain and challenge existing orthodoxies and in so doing provide opportunity for practicing managers, academics, and consultants to present their own theories, views and experiences from the complex world of professional management’

This conference is the first of an intended annual event. The successful emergence and continuance of the journal has led by way of natural osmosis to the international conference now duly presented.
