As part of the Associations on going development strategy, we now have an internationally registered publication duly supported by a highly qualified internationally disseminated editorial board. We are therefore delighted to present The International Journal of Professional Management ISSN 2042–2342. The journal’s official launch will take place next year 2010 at our first International Conference in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. More

Home Membership Grades

Our Association has FIVE grades of Professional memberships.

Membership qualifying examination scheme requires students to complete 6 (six) levels of examinations and assessments. The mandatory qualifying stages are:

Foundation
Intermediate
Professional Part 1
Professional Part 2
Completion of 6 Months Professional Qualifying Research Project
Completion of 18 Months practical Internship Programme

To become a Licensed Member of the Association, all Professional Part 2 successful students must complete 18 months internship programme at their place of work or at an approved alternative organization. Through mentoring and coaching, the intern will, in time, achieve a higher a level of performance and managerial effectiveness.

Our Association places great emphasis on this internship programme. Through a well structured system, this process is both motivating and challenging. Further details of the Qualifying Project and internship programmes are available elsewhere on this website.

Existing members must satisfy our mandatory requirements for Continuous Professional Development (MCPD) before renewal of their membership status.

Members are also expected to comply with our Association’s Code of Practice

CERTIFIED FELLOWS – FCIPM, FPMA

Certified Fellowship status is only open to our Certified Members who have a minimum of five (5) years experience at senior managerial level. In addition, certified members must be able to demonstrate that they have contributed significantly to the progress of the International Professional Managers Association and be sponsored by two who must Certified Fellows justifying the nomination.

However, very senior managers, very Senior Chief Executives of large organizations in private or public sector with minimum of 15 or more years of very senior managerial position may be awarded Fellow member on licensing.

CERTIFIED MEMBERS – CIPM, MPMA

Applicants for Certified (Full) Membership status must have a minimum of five (5) years experience post licensing Certified Associate Membership experience and must be members in good standing through out that period.

It is also available for MBA holders of recognised Universities. Applicants must complete our Professional Post Experience Qualifying Programme.

CERTIFIED ASSOCIATES – CIPM, AMPMA

Certified Associate Membership is open to newly licensed middle level managers with minimum of one year post licensing work experience.

LICENTIATE MEMBERS – LMPMA

Licentiate Membership is open to newly licensed members with less than one year post licensing experience.

GRADUATE MEMBERS –GRD. PMA

Applicant must have completed all the qualifying examinations up to the part two level but yet to undertake qualifying research project and qualifying internship programme.

Campus Membership

Eligible Campus members are those who have enrolled in a full-time degree, diploma or certificate program at a university or Polytechnic which participating in the International Professional Managers Association campus membership program. Students must maintain Campus membership throughout their academic program in order to qualify for credit towards the International Professional Managers Association designation without the necessity of a credit application form.

Upon graduation from the University the student must join the Association as a student member in the classification for which they qualify. Prior to receiving the International Professional Managers Association certificate and designation, a graduating student must:

  1. Complete all subjects required
  2. Retain International Professional Managers Association campus membership during the above period to satisfy the Association that they have attained the required degree of professionalism

Existing members must satisfy our mandatory requirements for ContinuousProfessional Development (MCPD) before renewal of their membership status or elevation to higher level.

Student Membership

All students intending to sit the examinations of the International Professional Managers Association must fulfil our entry requirements for registration. Registration is on an annual basis. Only duly registered students will be allowed to sit for our Association's examinations.

Applying for Membership

Individuals who may not have the requisite qualifications may submit applications on the basis of their business and managerial experience at a senior level over a number of years. Acceptance for membership is at the discretion of the Membership Committee of the Association.

HONORARY MEMBERSHIP GRADES
Hon. FELLOWS – (FPMA) and Hon MEMBERS – (MPMA)

Honorary Fellowship and Membership grades of the Association are reserved for very senior and senior Corporate Chief Executives, very top Government officials, senior Diplomats and top academics that have contributed immensely to the development and practice of Professional Management in any part of the world.
