Home Members’ section CPD Recording Activities

The International Professional Managers Association, through its website has provision for members to record their M CPD activities and events on line. These will be available to the individual concerned at any time and similarly our administrative office will have access to the records to enable statements and certificates to be issued when requested by the members or employers.

Through access to the website the International Professional Managers Association will evaluate and award the credit points to the individual. The system will also allow nominated superiors access to individual M CPD records subject to the permission of the individual concerned.

To Record Activities:

All members will have been allocated their username and password for access to the CPD system to log in as a CPD Member.

Follow the instructions as given for activity and event details to be completed online.

A complete record of all activities entered including points earned will also be available online after logging in as appropriate.

Credit Points

One credit is equivalent to 1 hour of learning time. Licensed members must accumulate 20 MCPD Credit points and Members 10 MCPD in each MCPD Licensing year. These credits earned are the minimum requirement for licensing and membership.

Lapsed licensed members may apply for renewal of their practicing licence and will be required to obtain at least 20 CPD credit points in the year prior to being reconsidered for licensing.

MCPD Development activities must be linked to the job requirements and must meet organisational and personal objectives. Not only is knowledge important, we must also include development of interpersonal skills which are necessary for effective professional practice.

Credits earned in excess of the minimum requirements may be carried over to the next year. A maximum of 5 M CPD credits that may be carried over to the next year for Licensed members and 2 M CPD credits for Members.

The licence to practice as a Certified Professional Manager (CIPM) will be renewed on the basis of the accumulation of this 20 MCPD credit points. There is provision for the carry forward of any excess credits to subsequent years.
