The International Professional Managers Association is an International Examining, Licensing and Regulatory Professional body formed for the purpose of providing practicing managers with the opportunity to participate and to be part of the process of improving managerial performance and effectiveness in all areas of business, industry and public administration. Managers of today work in an era of constant change. Increasing competitive pressures, rapid developments in Information Technology, Telecommunications, and a more demanding society altogether pose challenges crying out for effective solutions. Organisations today therefore need to have skilled Managers who can address these demanding challenges and have the ability to develop and implement the most effective business strategies to solve these problems. Our primary objective, as an International examining, licensing and regulatory professional body, is to improve the key skills required for effective management. Through our examination and licensing qualifying scheme we strive to create awareness and understanding of new technology and new techniques of management so that our qualified managers have the necessary skills to improve their personal effectiveness for their organisations and also to enable them to have a satisfying and rewarding career in Management. We also support and promote professionalism in the manner managers conduct themselves when dealing with people and organisations in the business and work environment. Through our membership and examination scheme we also ensure that our members uphold the high standards of management skills and expertise required by all employers in all sectors of economic activity. Our examination and membership structure will assure potential employers about your qualities and that you are competent and have the abilities to perform and deliver results. The subjects, as contained in our examination schemes, have been designed to give the student all the necessary knowledge and understanding required in today's business and management environment. By working through our examination and licensing qualifying scheme, the student will acquire, in time, knowledge and skills so that he will have the confidence and expertise to make the right decisions. Our examination scheme requires students to complete 4 levels of examinations and assessments. These are: Foundation Level Students must complete at, Professional Level Part 2 , a Qualifying Project. This Qualifying Project must be related to their own work environment and for their organisation. However, to become a Professional and Licensed member of the Association, all candidates must complete a 18 months internship programme at their place of work or at an approved alternative organisation. Through mentoring and coaching, the intern will, in time, achieve a higher level of performance and managerial effectiveness. Our Association places great emphasis on this Internship programme and through a well structured system this process is both motivating and challenging. Details of the Qualifying project and Internship programmes are contained elsewhere in this website. Membership of our Association recognises the achievement of the individual. With four grades of membership we recognise the status of the individual manager and is an acknowledgement of their expertise and experience. Our Association recognises the concept of life long learning. Members are required to keep up to date with new techniques and knowledge through training, attending courses, seminars and undertaking research through Continuous Professional Development (CPD). Our Association requires all members to earn credit points from these CPD activities. Renewals of Membership and Licensing will only be granted when the individual earns sufficient credit points. Details and operation of our CPD can be found on this website QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAMME In addition to its stringent internal quality control mechanism, International Professional Managers Association also subjects its programmes, processes and examination procedures to constant external and independent review and mapping exercises, to guarantee maximum quality for its professional qualifications.
